My design career and transition from University life begun by starting my own business 'Object One' while finishing my Honours year at Swinburne University. I freelanced with clients including drafting firms, Computer Software businesses, design/marketing companies and furniture manufacturers before being offered a full time Industrial Design position with Active Display Group in 1997.
Active Display Group is one of Australia's market leaders in point of sale design and manufacture. I had nearly seven years industry experience with Active designing for some of Australia's biggest POP clients. These included Coca-Cola Amatil, Cadbury Schweppes, Ford Australia, Carlton and United Breweries, Nestle Peters, Phillip Morris, Lion Nathan, Adidas, Everlast, Telstra, Kodak, Australia Post, Mars and many more.
During my employment with Active I progressed to a Senior Designer position and as most of Actives manufacturing is completed in house, gained a wide knowledge of different industries, manufacturing processes and construction materials. These included acrylic, timber and metal fabrication, vacuum forming, tooling, trimming, spray painting, vinyl lettering, printing, injection molding, plastic extruding, CNC routing, CNC programming, laser cutting and thermo forming. I have also been involved in staff recruitment, training, and supervision.
On a personal note, I believe myself to be self-disciplined, imaginative, patient, reliable, thorough, optimistic, and amicable with a strong work ethic. I enjoy travel, cooking, volleyball, renovating, and experiencing new things.
I've now left Active and Australia to experience a different side of the world and progress my design skills in Europe. Please take the time to view my folio any comments or job offers are most welcome.
